Join us for a creative experience at the Offbeat Festival on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th September at Gloucester Green!
Helen, one of our very talented creative practitioners with expertise in textiles, will be leading a unique community creative wellbeing workshop called “Kandi-Style Collaborative Quilting.”
Join us for a journey of creativity and conversation as we create a hand-stitched Kawandi-style collaborative quilt. Gather around our ‘talking triangles,’ where prompts on the base fabric spark meaningful conversations and inspire your creative choices, helping to shape the quilt’s overall aesthetic.
Participants will use small scrap fabrics in various shapes and motifs—think Matisse-style paper cuts—to craft a vibrant and eclectic quilt by stitching, pinning, or glueing. This workshop focuses more on fostering mindfulness and community connection through slow stitching than on the quilting itself.
Once completed, the individual triangles will be assembled into a larger community artwork to be exhibited at Ark-T. Participants will also have the opportunity to leave their mark by adding their name and age to the quilt.
Join us for this beautiful celebration of creativity, community, and the art of living well. We look forward to stitching memories and stories together! 🌸
