Jo is a cultural learning specialist and creative practitioner with over 30 years’ experience developing creative programmes and projects in museums.
Jo previously worked as a Primary School teacher in Leeds; Community Education Officer and then Head of Heritage Education for Warwickshire Museum and Archives; Head of Learning and then Head of Informal Learning and Public Programmes at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.
In 2023 Jo left the Ashmolean to work as a freelance cultural learning consultant & creative practitioner.
Jo launched Curious Creators in May 2023, delivering object-inspired creative workshops and after-school programmes for children and young people in and around rural South Warwickshire.
Jo is interested in imaginative, playful and creative learning, creative evaluation, cultural organisations as social and civic spaces, social and cultural prescribing and collaborative practice.
Jo also does occasional work at Compton Verney Art Gallery as a Learning Deliverer, at the Cotswolds Distillery, talking about whisky and gin, and as a duty manager at the Cidermill Theatre in Chipping Campden.
Born and brought up in South Yorkshire, Jo now lives in South Warwickshire with her husband, son and two bouncy labradors.
