Donnia Reafat

Trustee

Donnia has lived in Oxford since 2014, raising her family, having relocated from her hometown
of London. She studied English & Philosophy at the University of Warwick and after completing
an internship in social research, went on to work in factual programming on several food, art
and educational film productions, before moving into the not-for-profit sector.

She has worked with a number of health and youth charities delivering digital communications
strategies, campaigns, content creation and media relations, including for Breast Cancer Now,
(formerly Breast Cancer Care), The Prince’s Trust and Oxfordshire Mind.

Donnia is passionate about widening access to the arts and participation for young people.
Using her film production experience, she has delivered projects for 16-25-year-olds on the
topics that matter to them, researching and developing ideas into short films, video diaries,
blogs, storytelling and spoken word poetry.

At Oxfordshire Mind she set up a Youth Steering Group with the aim of reducing stigma around
accessing mental health support through group discussion and co-produced content. Ark-T was
a partner in the project and Donnia is keen to support our own Youth Network.

In addition to her work as a communications consultant, Donnia enjoys yoga, swimming and
running, as often as she can, making art, writing and reviving her rusty classical guitar skills.
